Remortgage or Secured Loan?

by loudtanya, over a month ago.
I'm tied into my fixed rate mortgage for just over 2 more years. I need to borrow between £12,000 and £15,000 but the cost of coming out of my mortgage is a few thousand pounds. Of course I will get a better rate on the new loan money, but I'll pay more out over the longer term. Has anyone been faced with this dilemma before? I guess by going the loan route I can clear it off earlier. Any tips would be welcome!
